Who is the face behind the Waggy Tales Blog?
What inspired me to write about dogs and books?
Hi, my name is Lou and I’m based in Staffordshire, England.
I started this blog in April 2017 because I wanted to write and combine my two passions in life, dogs and books.
If you love reading or enjoy spending time with dogs, this blog is for you!
I have had years of experience with dogs both as a fosterer and a dog owner and I want to pass on some of the tips and tricks I learned along the way.
I love to interact with people who love dogs as much as I do, and I learn new things every day.
As for the book side of the blog:
I have been an avid reader all my life and when I read a good book I want to tell everyone about it.
I like to get lost in the pages of a book and go through emotions I never knew existed.
You can also read some of my poetry here on this blog.
The genre’s I like to read are:
I take author review requests or blog tour invites (in the above genre’s).
My contact email for book review requests is:
Please understand that I have a waiting list and time constraints so it can take up to three months for a review to be published.
I enjoy reading other bloggers book reviews and give authors promotional support on Twitter. I have a good following of book lovers and authors who love to Tweet about great writing.
The Inspiration For This Blog
The inspiration for this blog came from a little dog called Alfie who we sadly lost in March 2017. He had the kindest heart and left a huge hole in my life. Writing the blog posts was my way of coping with my loss and it continues to help me, even now.
You can read Alfie’s story and a poem I wrote for him here
My dogs Holly and Darcy feature heavily in my dog posts. All the product reviews have been tested on them, as well as my daughter’s dogs Rosie and Luca.
I am interested in all aspects of dog rescue in the UK. I have fostered rescue dogs in the past and my dachshund Darcy is an ex stud dog with severe anxiety problems.
Most of my posts are based on my own experiences with dogs but I am always interested in finding new ways to solve problems for dog owners.
Reviews and Affiliate Links
At the start of the year, I partnered with a few companies and added affiliate links to my blog posts. I always give honest and balanced opinions and only advertise reputable companies. My main aim is to help other dog lovers and interact with people who have the same interests as myself.
