A Wedding At The Beach Hut
by
Veronica Henry
Today I am absolutely thrilled to be on the opening day of the blog tour for A Wedding At The Beach Hut by Veronica Henry.
The Queen of the ultimate feel good summer read, Veronica Henry returns to the glorious summer setting of her bestselling beach hut books for her new page turning family drama. A lush and inviting summer read which will transport readers to the Devon coastline for a wedding to remember.
Escape to Everdene Sands, where the sun is shining – but is the tide about to turn?
Robyn and Jake are planning their dream wedding at the family beach hut in Devon. A picnic by the turquoise waves, endless sparkling rosé and dancing barefoot on the golden sand . . .
But Robyn is more unsettled than excited. She can’t stop thinking about the box she was given on her eighteenth birthday, and the secrets it contains. Will opening it reveal the truth about her history – and break the hearts of the people she loves most?
As the big day arrives, can everyone let go of the past and step into a bright new future?
My Thoughts
I was so excited to join the blog tour for A Wedding At The Beach Hut by one of my favourite authors.
The book centres around Robyn and Jake, their families, and friends, all set in the Devonshire seaside town of Everdene.
Robyn is blissfully happy, every part of her life is perfect apart from one last piece of the jigsaw, something that becomes more important as her life moves forward. She shows great courage and takes a leap of faith, knowing that her actions could cause heartbreak for her loved ones. Robyn’s journey is emotional and beautifully written, a story that will really resonate with both mothers and daughters.
If I had a beach hut like the Shedquarters, I don’t think I would ever leave. It worked so well as a unique, boho style wedding venue lovingly arranged by Robyn’s friend Gwen. I loved all the quirky details and upcycling which went into making the perfect wedding day for a couple who just wanted to celebrate with close family and friends.
As always in Veronica Henry’s books, every one of the side characters has a story to tell. I adored Rocky who devoted himself to bringing up his sons without a thought for his own happiness. Robyn’s friend Gwen is a loyal confidante and true friend. She lives alone surrounded by wonderful artifacts she has collected over the years but underneath there is a loneliness that needs to be filled.
The book focuses on strong relationships both parental and romantic and serious issues are told with great sensitivity. If you are looking for a relaxing, uplifting read, A Wedding At The Beach Hut will completely sweep you away.
