Puppy Days In Lockdown Britain

Puppy Days In Lockdown

How is everyone doing?

It’s so hard, isn’t it?

I’ve always craved endless hours to read and play with my dogs but I have no concentration. I’ve tried psychological thrillers to grip me, lighthearted romance to try to escape….. but nothing is working!

Luckily this chap has no idea what is going on in the world. It is just a normal day.

Puppy Days In Lockdown

He isn’t always like that.

At five months old he has developed selective deafness. He doesn’t respond if I tell him to stop digging the garden, chewing the plants and picking up stones., but he hears the treat tin just fine!

I wouldn’t mind if he left the contents of the garden outside, but he insists on bringing me gifts of leaves, soil, pebbles, and branches.

As if I’m not cleaning enough!

Then at 7pm, he sinks into a twelve-hour slumber fest of utter contentment.

I’m not jealous at all!

I hope you are getting some enjoyment from your books or dogs (or both).

Sending positive and healing thoughts to everyone who is struggling today.

love

  1. I find it difficult living under quarantine where there is so much illness in my town – I miss the hugs of friends and just living a normal routine …but my pups really help me with loneliness, they know just when to snuggle on my lap or fill my home with super energized playful mischief ! I play a lot of my favorite songs and movies to distract me from worries and my son calls me each day at 4:30 p.m. which we call our happy hour ! Your little pup is such a love, he will take good care of you !

    1. Thank you Maggie. We are lucky to get such comfort from our pups. Keep safe and strong x

  2. Thank you. Needed that. Into our third week of isolation in Italy and just beginning to feel it a bit! It looks unlikely that we can get back to the UK and if we did, being caravan nomads, we have nowhere to go because all sites are closed until further notice. We’re confined to barracks but are quite fortunate that there is a large-ish outside space – we’re allowed to take out the pups for necessities. Thankfully, as you say, The Fab Four have no idea what is going on in the world and fill our days every day with puppy love and joy!
Take care everyone and stay safe.

    1. I know you are such a free spirit with boundless enthusiasm to travel so it must be so hard. Give The Fab Four a hug and keep safe x
