My Thoughts

This is a really sweet, rhyming storybook with an important message for 3 to 7-year-old children.

When Brad’s dad made him sad he learned from his dog that he doesn’t have to feel that way. He learned that it’s ok to feel sadness but it’s up to him to let those feelings go. His dad makes him feel upset but soon he will have happy thoughts again.

I liked the message that we are all in charge of our own feelings and we should not let others dictate how we feel. The use of a dog in the story was clever because dogs don’t hold grudges, they just live in the moment. The illustrations are captivating and the story is told simplistically, which will appeal to young children.
