This is the first Sue Moorcroft book I have read, however, it is a name that I recognise and I couldn’t wait to jump straight into A Summer To Remember.
Clancy arrives in Nelson’s Bar to escape heartache and betrayal. She takes up a position working as a caretaker for a set of holiday cottages which are partly owned by her cousin Alice. However, Clancy’s arrival at Roundhouse Row is not welcomed at all by the family of Alice’s ex-partner, Luke, who she jilted at the altar. Luke suffered from a breakdown after the cruel way that his relationship ended. His family are extremely protective and don’t want Clancy’s arrival to set him back.
The book is packed full of interesting characters who provide humour, conflict, secret relationships, and plenty of romance. The location of roundhouses situated right next to the Norfolk coast was highly original and made the storyline come alive. I loved the idea of the secret beach set away from the clifftops, out of sight from anyone.
This was thoroughly enjoyable from an author who is completely new to me. The storyline captivated me and I was sad when the book came to an end. The unique location and well-rounded characters made this book completely memorable.
