Goldendoodle Days

Just a quick update on Luca the Goldendoodle puppy now he is fast approaching his first birthday.

Luca the gentle giant is keeping us all entertained with his antics, he is not just big in size but BIG in personality.

His growth spurt seems to have calmed down and he seems to be becoming more muscular and he certainly is a very strong boy. He still likes to try and sit on your knee and put his head on your shoulder, which is so lovely, but leaves you with a dead arm, a mouthful of dog hair and unable to see anything.

My little Holly (a Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix) is fourteen now but she still loves to play and Luca is so gentle with her. Her whole body is roughly the same size as Luca’s head so they make a comical pair, but so entertaining to watch.

My other dog Darcy, the mini dachshund, is extremely jealous of Luca and loves it when Luca gets told off (to be fair it is usually Darcy who is in trouble!)

Luca is extremely well behaved off the lead and can move at a fast pace for such a big dog. He attracts friends wherever he goes, other dogs just seem to know that he is friendly and that he loves to chase.

One problem that my daughter still has with him is he is very excitable and doesn’t seem to know his own size. She is teaching him the ‘wait’ command and he is improving but this needs more work. Hopefully, he will calm down so that I can take him for a walk, but at the moment he’s much too strong for me.

My daughter works from home so Luca and Rosie have someone with them most of the time. However, this is the scene she returned to after attending a meeting this week..
