Searching For Steven

What if you already know your future… but not the path to take you there?

When Sarah Peterson accepts her Auntie Kay’s unexpected offer to take over her florist’s shop, she’s prepared for a change of job, home and lifestyle. What she isn’t prepared for is the discovery of a scarily accurate clairvoyant reading that’s been missing for twelve years. All her predictions have come true, except one: she’s about to meet the man of her dreams. Oh, and his name is Steven. Suddenly Stevens are everywhere. Could it be the window cleaner, the rep, the manager of the coffee shop, or any of the men she’s met online? On top of that, she finds herself quite attracted to a handsome web designer, but his name isn’t even Steven… During this unusual search, will Sarah find her destiny?

Searching For Steven

My Review

Sarah Peterson has always dreamed of getting married. She made a life plan at twelve years old where she hoped to meet a gorgeous guy at twenty, engaged at twenty-two and married at twenty-four. Her bridal gown would have puffy sleeves and a long train (edited to short train and no puffy sleeves at a later date) and bridesmaids would be dressed in peach, frilly dresses (also edited to No peach and No frills at a later date). Her main aim in life was to be happy like her parents and not alone like her Uncle Alan.

Things hadn’t gone to plan and Sarah thought she would never meet her Mr. Right. She was packing to move house when she found an old tape recording of a clairvoyants predictions which turned out to be scarily accurate. The thing that Sarah found most interesting was that the clairvoyant said she was about to meet the man of her dreams and his name would be Steven.

What if the right man comes along but his name isn’t Steven?

How will Sarah know which Steven is the right one?

I was really looking forward to reviewing Searching For Steven because I recently read and reviewed Raving About Rhys also by Jessica Redland. Review here

I like how the main characters in both books make you invest emotionally in their wellbeing and you desperately want things to work out for them. Sarah is extremely likeable and fun, with a really charming, warm personality. Jessica Redland has also added some great characters, there is the dashing Nick  and Sarah’s best friends Elise and Clare (who are complete opposites and dislike each other!)

A warm and fuzzy chick lit, truly heartwarming and highly recommended.

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and Jessica Redland for providing a copy of the book, which I have reviewed honestly

Author Bio –

Jessica had never considered writing as a career until a former manager kept telling her that her business reports read more like stories and she should write a book. She loved writing but had no plot ideas. Then something happened to her that prompted the premise for her debut novel, Searching for Steven. She put fingers to keyboard and soon realised she had a trilogy and a novella!

She lives on the stunning North Yorkshire Coast – the inspiration for the settings in her books – with her husband, daughter, cat, Sprocker Spaniel, and an ever-growing collection of collectible teddy bears. Although if the dog has her way, the collection will be reduced to a pile of stuffing and chewed limbs!

Jessica tries to balance her time – usually unsuccessfully – between being an HR tutor and writing.
